Shane Volk Chief Financial Officer (appointed March, 2007)

Shane Volk has twenty years experience in the mining and minerals exploration business. A graduate (1985) from the Royal Melbourne Institute (Melbourne) B.Bus (Accounting), Shane commenced his career with BHP, spending almost 4 years at their manganese mine at Groote Eylandt, Australia. A ten year career with Canadian headquartered international gold mining company Placer Dome (since acquired by Barrick) followed, initially in Papua New Guinea (Porgera gold mine), then 6 years based in Jakarta, Indonesia responsible for the commercial aspects of Placer Dome’s Asian exploration activities (Indonesia, Philippines and China). A three year appointment with Indonesian Coal miner PT Kaltim Prima Coal, as General Manager Commercial preceded his return to Australia to take up his current position with Emmerson Resources.
