$20m for Tennant dig

A new mining company has raised $20 million to search for gold and copper at Tennant Creek.

Emmerson Resources has an exploration licence covering 2700 sq km.

It also owns the Warrego gold processing plant.

It closed its initial public offering after issuing 100 million shares at 20c each. The company will list on the Australian stock exchange in the next two weeks and plans to start exploration work at Tennant Creek in early 2008.
